As I was reading the word of God today. I was paused as I read Romans 1:9. Here Paul says,
“God is my witness whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of His Son."
How powerful is this statement Paul made? What spoke to me the loudest was the part where he said, "whom I serve with my spirit in the Gospel of His son."
I declared today that I serve God with my spirit in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am extremely drawn to this portion of scripture.
Here Paul let us know how to serve God. With our spirit! Which makes total sense because we cannot serve the Lord with our mind, with our flesh, with our emotions. I believe this is one of the reasons we are advised to walk in the spirit, right. So, we can serve the Lord consistently through our spirit man!
May we die to our flesh feeding it the desires it screams at us, die to our carnal mind, and unhealthy emotions.
How does one serve through their spirit in the gospel of Jesus Christ?
We must spend time, uninterrupted with the Father in the name of Jesus amen.
We must study and pause when Holy Spirit prompts us. When you find yourself drawn back to specific scriptures that causes you to ponder what is written; we must go back and ask the Lord what are you speaking to me in the name of Jesus. The word of God speaks in the name of Jesus amen.
I then thought about the first portion of scripture "God is my witness…" Often times before some people are willing to work with you, befriend you they often desire a witness of your character and or work ethic, even in ministry someone to validate who you are in the body of Christ. But we must stand like Paul stood in the confidence that God is my witness. He, Himself is my witness in all things. And the beauty of His witness is in you (me) and on you (me). His witness is His glory, His anointing, His authority, His power, His Light, and beyond that His Spirit in us and on us.
So, do not be discouraged if you do not have a natural witness, as long as God is your witness everything else is sound.
May all that you are be solidified through Christ in the name of Jesus amen.
