The Lord Says "He Is Our Refuge and Fortress"

Psalm 91:2 I will say of the Lord “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, In Him I will trust.”

As I read this as I spoke this into my life and the life of my children today the Lord guided me to search a little bit deeper within this verse to truly remember and understand just exactly what this mean to me.

The word of God is not mere words, its life, its truth, and it is the way! The written Word of God introduce us to the Living Word of God and that is Jesus Christ!

I said, “Lord You are my refuge” But what does that really mean?

Lord you are my safe place, my rest, and my peace!

Refuge: A condition of being safe or sheltered from pursuit of danger and or trouble.

As I really looked at the scripture and definition of refuge, I stand corrected by the word of God and must repent. I shifted from believing that He was my safe place and shelter. It’s one thing to know and another to believe. You can know something, but still do not quite believe.

It has not always been this way, but when I allowed my eyes to subtly shift from God to circumstance my belief of His truth shifted to believing what I saw and how I felt.

I appreciate His word because it corrects our course.

He is our fortress, it’s so easy to repeat what we read or what we are told to repeat, but if there is no understanding of what you are saying then there is no true enforcement of belief.

Fortress: My God is my fortified place; my stronghold.

According to www.josephprince.com Hebrew word Matsuwd - It refers to a castle or stronghold, a place of defense and protection against strong attacks.

This painted a rewarding picture in my mind as I studied the meaning of the word, I so freely released over myself and children. It strengthened my resolve in God being just that for me, my children, and He is that to you also! Our refuge and fortress (We are safe)

So today instead of me declaring and decreeing, the Lord, declared and decreed to me who He is to me and built my confidence in knowing:

The Lord is my refuge and my fortress.

The Lord is my Fortified place.

The Lord is my stronghold and strong tower.

The Lord is my refuge and strength a very present help in trouble.

The Lord is my place of resort (rest), peace, tranquility (when a thousand fall at our side and ten thousand at our right hand) don’t worry because it will not come near us.

Why?

Because the Lord is our refuge and our fortress.

When the storms (circumstances) rages in our lives don’t worry.

Why?

Because the Lord is our refugee and fortress. He is our protection!

Isaiah 4:6 The Lord is our tabernacle of shade in the daytime (don’t worry about the heat and or the intensity of circumstances) because our Abba is the place of refuge a shelter from the storm and rain.

With all our getting may we gain an understanding so we can believe the word of God past our emotions and the how good it sounds.

I pray that we all have a fervent spirit of prayer (intensity, fire) that we may be hot in our pursuit and seeking the Father and getting to know Him better. To be transformed by the renewing of our mind through seeking of His Spirit behind the word. Dedicated study to show ourselves approved and the ability to rightfully divide the word of truth. Father fill us with

your Holy Spirit and Fire in Jesus name amen.

In Jesus name amen!
